Boot areas are typically covered with an extra length tonneau or left open to the elements. As an aesthetic, and in some cases aerodynamic, modification honeycomb carbon-fibre panels can be utilised.
Sold as a blank for you to shape to your desired contour, the plain boot panel is incredibly light making a perfect boot cover. A popular solution is to use Dzus clips in a two-piece panel to allow quick access to the boot area when desired. The plain boot panels differ from the honeycomb boot panels in their rigidity - the honeycomb panels being very stiff with zero flex meaning that no extra stiffening or stengthening is required, however, the plain boot panels on their own are a mere 1mm thick (pre-preg) carbon fibre, this may mean if straddling a boot in one-piece they may require further stiffening underneat. If a one-piece boot cover is desired, it may be easier to go for the honeycomb boot panel.
These boot covers are suitable for after-market replacements on Locosts, Westfields and similar.
