Ten years of kart racing experience at club level, starting out in the 100cc 2-stroke TKM class and progressing up to 250cc 2-stroke National gearbox class. Highlights being overall runner up in 1996 South West club championship (100cc TKM class). In the last meeting of the season winning each of the three qualifying rounds and then the final. Runner up in 1999 South West club championship (250cc National class). |

1300cc Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle engine, heavily modified by Mistral, Fluke Motorsport lightweight aluminium race silencer. Six speed sequential dog box. Reverse transfer box. Quaife ATB differential, 4.1:1 final drive ratio.
Lightweight GRP (fibreglass) bodyshell. 2.2 quick-rack. Fully independent, double 'A' arm suspension with Nitron adjustable dampers. 2.25" springs of varying rates. Adjustable anti-roll bars front and rear. Rose jointed suspension. 4-pot callipers front, 1-pot callipers rear, lightweight discs all round. Alloy uprights with Fluke Motorsport Ackerman adjusters and alloy hubs.

Martin began driving in 100cc karts and started competing with cars in autotests and sprint events at the age of 17. In 1994 a production class Toyota Corolla GTi saw a class win on it's first outing and domination of the class in the 1994 International Race Meeting, winning 3 of 3 races. 1995 produced several class wins, including 4th overall in the Techmarine Stages Rally held in Jamaica. 1996 resulted in winning the production class in the BRC Championship.
